JORGE PERCOVICH JORGE PERCOVICH CEO Havas Group LATAM More than seven months have passed since the WHO declared Covid-19 a pandemic. Hundreds of millions of people have lived through lockdowns. Many have made the abrupt shift to working from home; millions have lost jobs. The future looks uncertain. We don’t know when, or if, our societies might return to normal – or what kind of scars the pandemic will leave. Our business suffered a good deal, but out of all crises, come opportunities, and we’ve used this time to accelerate our transformation. A transformation that comes at an unprecedented time and pushes the boundaries of strategic thinking and action driven management. Before March 15th, my weekly routine was surrounded by planes, airports and meetings. Latin America is an extended and diverse region, and for the last 5 years that had been my ‘modus operandi’, moving between the US, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Argentina or Chile. But, in the last seven months, I’ve had no business trips. Something that I couldn’t have imagined back in March. Although times have been intense and as most, I have had to juggle long workdays filled with calls, it has been a blessing to be home. I have tried to use this time to spend mornings and nights with my wife and kids. Taking nothing for granted, and just thankful of something positive within all the negatives. Being home has been a game changer. From changing diapers to talking about upcoming college courses. Something I know I will cherish forever. As I get back in the travelling saddle, I have to be appreciative of family and personal time…. next week off to Mexico! 41 DARE!
